Parking on the Upper West Side?

I have to escort a school trip in the 79th Street Basin on Tuesday. Although I always prefer public transport, I am driving my car in Jersey, because they must have access to it during the day (it's a long story, but I can not use a car for that reason). Of all However, are there any suggestions on what streets for the first hit in my search for parking on the street? I will arrive between 8:30-9:00 AM. I know, I know, it's actually a silly question, but any suggestions would be helpful. I lived in Brooklyn, and I know that all places had strategies standards and parking regulations.

While we're at the west end, may be lucky and possibly find parking anywhere along the streets numbered (W. 80 – 85th Streets) and along Riverside Drive, for that matter. Parking can be difficult to find in West End Avenue and you can forget about Broadway, Amsterdam and the Columbus avenues. There are no guarantees as though this is alternate-side parking, but at least be in the far west side, you can have a chance. Just read the signs:)

Excerpt: St Pancras Cruising Club is a members' association of boat owners located between Camden Town and Islington on the Regent's Canal in central London. Most boats in the basin are narrowboats, the most common form of craft on the British canals. As the club is near to King's Cross Station, it is affected by the ongoing developments at King's Cross Central, formerly known as the Railway Lands. SPCC is located next to Camley Street Natural Park, between St Pancras Station, which since 2007 has been the Eurostar terminal, and St Pancras Old Church, the second oldest site of Christianity in England. The club, which was founded in 1958, is situated in a basin that was used to handle building stone. SPCC has a clubhouse with a bar. It constructed the first new dry dock in London for many decades, now the only one in the city. In 2001 the club became the guardian of a listed water tower, originally used to refill the steam locomotives. The Victorian Gothic brick structure, designed by the office of Sir George Gilbert Scott around 1870, was moved a few hundred metres to save it from the path of the Eurostar . SPCC has gained a reputation as one of the country's foremost cruising clubs, based not least on the year-round safe navigations that it conducts and marshals on the Tideway, the tidal Thames. One of the most notable cruises was the 2007 one to the Houses of Parliament protesting DEFRA cuts to the inland waterways budget SPCC has always played an active part in waterways events. It is a founder member of the Association of Waterways Cruising Clubs , of which the current chairman, David Pearce, served for seven years as the commodore of SPCC. The club helps organise events such as the Angel Canal Festival and the Canalway Cavalcade, in which the bo... More: http://booksllc.net/?id=2391827

Lopez had a strong desire to make studio recordings, but Reprise preferred that he stick with what worked -- at least for a while -- although Live at Basin St. East would be his last live album for the label. An unusual aspect of the set list is that several songs are reprised from Trini Lopez at PJ`s, Lopez`s big hit album from 1963. It is understandable that an audience would want to hear songs from his most popular album, but a little strange to fill a new album with live performances of songs from an earlier live album. Aside from those cuts, Live at Basin St. East contains Lopez`s usual assortment of oldies performed with stripped-down, electrified arrangements in a party atmosphere. His bilingual version of "Hello, Dolly!" is a standout, and his rendition of the dramatic Frankie Laine hit "Jezebel" shows Lopez`s ability to adapt practically any kind of material to his style. Live at Basin St. East is more of the same for enthusiasts of his earlier live albums but a little redundant. ~ Greg Adams Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. All rights reserved.

Tales from Hidden Basin Tales from Hidden Basin

Written with uncommon power and vitality, these tales transcend their homestead and logging camp settings in much the same way as do Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn their Mississippi environs -Vancouver SunA sea serpent silently appears on a sunny spring day; a shrieking devil thing wreaks havoc in a logging camp cookhouse; a wandering blind priest travels miles by boat, accompanied only by a young mute companion with an unearthly talent for throwing stones. These are the stories of a lost civilization. Its ruins peek out from alder thickets around ruined homesteads, or wash up as beached wreckage on the shores of deserted inlets.brNot too many years ago, almost every nook and cranny along the BC coast was dotted with cabins, market gardens, rough-hewn floats and handloggers booms. Settlers came from all over the bright lights of Vancouver. They eked out bare livelihoods by farming, fishing and logging, and at rare get-togethers, visiting via woodland trail or clinker-built row boat, they told each other stories about this rugged and beautiful place. Stories of marauding cougars, enormous fish and mysterious winds that could reach down from the sky to rip a mighty fir to shreds.brAuthor Dick Hammond draws extensively on the stories of his father Hal, who grew up on the shores of Nelson Island's Hidden Basin. He writes of an intriguing community peopled with renegade bandits, master craftsmen, handloggers, Natives, farmers and crooked land agents' But these are also stories about a family hidden away in the wilderness, survival and the relationship between father and son. Tales from Hidden Basin is rich in west coast lore and resonates with the ring of truth and the power of myth.

Tales from Hidden Basin Tales from Hidden Basin
$17.05

A sea serpent silently appears on a sunny spring day; a shrieking "devil thing" wreaks havoc in a logging camp cookhouse; a wandering blind priest travels miles by boat, accompanied only by a young mute companion with an unearthly talent for throwing stones. These are the stories of a lost civilization. Its ruins peek out from alder thickets around ruined homesteads, or wash up as beached wreckage on the shores of deserted inlets. Not too many years ago, almost every nook and cranny along the BC coast was dotted with cabins, market gardens, rough-hewn floats and handloggers booms. Settlers came from all over the bright lights of Vancouver. They eked out bare livelihoods by farming, fishing and logging, and at rare get-togethers, visiting via woodland trail or clinker-built row boat, they told each other stories about this rugged and beautiful place. Stories of marauding cougars, enormous fish and mysterious winds that could reach down from the sky to rip a mighty fir to shreds. Author Dick Hammond draws extensively on the stories of his father Hal, who grew up on the shores of Nelson Island`s Hidden Basin. He writes of an intriguing community peopled with renegade bandits, master craftsmen, handloggers, Natives, farmers and crooked land agents` But these are also stories about a family hidden away in the wilderness, survival and the relationship between father and son. "Tales from Hidden Basin" is rich in west coast lore and resonates with the ring of truth and the power of myth.

Dear Peaches, America is PERFECT! I love it here. I wish you could come visit - we could go shopping on Market Street and you could meet all my new friends. . . . Okay, so Vicenza isn't being totally honest with Peaches, her best friend back in Manila. But what fun is it being the new girl at snooty Grosvernor High? Or rooting through the Salvation Army for unholey cashmere sweaters? Or having culture-shocked, embarrassingly clueless parents? or at least his date to the annual fancy-schmancy Soiré e d'Hiver. But Vicenza won't be friendless, fashionless, or "fresh off the boat" for long - it’s only a matter of time before she sees what's right before her eyes and her luck begins to change.
