cheap boat

Anybody know a good place that is cheap to rent as a fishing boat for 4 days?
I'm going fishing in early June and do not have a boat for me and my father so please help.
You would need to add more information such as country or state where you live and if by sea or lake fishing.

Cheap
$9.99 An Atlantic correspondent uncovers the true cost—in economic, political, and psychic terms—of our penchant for making and buying things as cheaply as possible. From the shuttered factories of the rust belt to the look-alike strip malls of the sun belt—and almost everywhere in between—America has been transformed by its relentless fixation on low price. This pervasive yet little examined obsession is arguably the most powerful and devastating market force of our time—the engine of globalization, outsourcing, planned obsolescence, and economic instability in an increasingly unsettled world. Low price is so alluring that we may have forgotten how thoroughly we once distrusted it. Ellen Ruppel Shell traces the birth of the bargain as we know it from the Industrial Revolution to the assembly line and beyond, homing in on a number of colorful characters, such as Gene Verkauf (his name is Yiddish for “to sell”), founder of E. J. Korvette, the discount chain that helped wean customers off traditional notions of value. The rise of the chain store in post–Depression America led to the extolling of convenience over quality, and big-box retailers completed the reeducation of the American consumer by making them prize low price in the way they once prized durability and craftsmanship. The effects of this insidious perceptual shift are vast: a blighted landscape, escalating debt (both personal and national), stagnating incomes, fraying communities, and a host of other socioeconomic ills. That’s a long list of charges, and it runs counter to orthodox economics which argues that low price powers productivity by stimulating a brisk free market. But Shell marshals evidence from a wide range of fields—history, sociology, marketing, psychology, even economics itself—to upend the conventional wisdom. Cheap also unveils the fascinating and unsettling illogic that underpins our bargain-hunting reflex and explains how our deep-rooted n |

Cheap
$22.48 Manufactured goods have been getting cheaper, both in absolute terms and relative to services. Since the Consumer Prices Index was first launched in 1996, the prices of "goods" have fallen an average 2%; while the prices of services have risen 35%. The most talked about example has been in textiles: since 1996, the average price of clothes has fallen 36%. But it is not just clothes that have been falling in price: new cars are 1.5% cheaper than they were in 1996; household appliances are 24% cheaper; toys are 30% cheaper, and of course, in the audio-visual category, you'll find things are on average now 56% cheaper than they were nine years ago. |

The Minimum Boat (Paperback)
$14.17 This quirky, lighthearted compilation brings together many of nautical-thriller writer Sam Llewellyn`s articles for Practical Boat Owner magazine. Owner of a traditional Drascombe Lugger, Llewellyn is an advocate of keeping sailing simple, and in this wonderful collection of nautical observations, he promotes the minimalist boating lifestyle -- while poking gentle fun at the expensive, complicated, ostentatious forms of sailing. Shunning the use of in-mast furling systems, passionately against the replacement of shrimping nets with walk-in freezers, and perplexed by sailors who spend more time fixing the hot water system than getting their hands on the tiller, Sam Llewellyn seeks to realign seafaring priorities that have become bizarre.Llewellyn`s sage and loony meditations on subjects as diverse as anchoring, fishing, alcohol, and marine sanitation will appeal to anyone who has ever balked at fixing the head but believes that there is nothing, simply nothing, worth doing as much as messing around in boats.Laced with humor and tongue-in-cheek jibes, and illustrated throughout by cartoons from the inimitable Mike Peyton, this is the ideal bunkside read for those who are attracted to the traditional way of sailing and keeping things simple (and cheap!) on the water. |
