What are looking to buy a used boat?

I am looking to buy a used boat. I do not want much, basically, I'm just looking to get in the water to do some fishing and maybe some skiing. I know I want about 20 feet and I want a speed, but what kind of things should I look? Motor? Outdrive? All I know about boats is that float.
