outboard carburetor
I have a 1983 Mercury outboard and works well, but leaks gas out of the cup of the new post on the boards. help!?

Outboard 50 HP 1983 of mercury. when I start it until it starts well and runs well, but there is a fuel leak substanstial drainage at the bottom of the bowl of the carburetor. I put together new and still leaks. Pleas help!

It is not leaking into the bowl drain screw, or face where the body of carbohydrates? If the screw drain, try to duplicate the seal screw. If it is leaking at the joint between the body and the container, you can try face resurfacing bowl. Use a piece # 180 emery cloth on a flat surface (plate glass works best) and rub the bowl back and forth until the entire surface is glossy. If the body is carbohydrate lost, it's time for a new carburetor.
