outboard stator

How long is reasonable to install the new stator (outboard)?
The boat of my boyfriend has a 2-stroke Mercury Mariner (75 HSP) of engine. We could not get the engine started the last time we were on the lake, so it was an outboard mechanic. They said they needed to replace the stator. My question is: How long does it take to replace a stator (work hours). Just want to ensure you're not getting ripped off at work. Thank you!
2 hours would have enough time to diagnose and then change a stator.
